| In hindsight, the problem was probably that we weren't fast enough in practice, so the consuption was fine. In the race Marie-Claude was much quicker, and the fuel use was much higher - something we hadn't taken into account. When I went to find the car, I hid a bottle of fuel in my pocket, but there were too many people around for me to throw it to her. I told her to check if there was any fuel in the lines, and she shook her head. The engine fired up, but only for a few yards. She tried everything, but after an hour of desperately trying, she finally gave up. That's motor racing. |
